The Sound Scales method is a three step system with recordings to take the learner from the initial stages of scale development, right through to a test ready performance.

Our concept for scales is to lead by example.

‘Example isn’t another way to teach, it’s the only way to teach’ (Einstein).

As violin teachers with a combined experience of over 30 years, we have found that the best route to superb scales is for the teacher to play the scales along with the student in the initial stages of learning.
This improves the tuning, tone, rhythm and phrasing (shaping) of the scales.

One obstacle often faced by the student and teacher is the time in between lessons, as you can’t take the teacher home to help in your daily practice!

We have developed the sound scales method to combat this problem.
Using the book and downloading the recordings, you can play along at a variety of speeds to promote excellence with the four main points above supporting the work done by your teacher in the lessons.
